OFFICIAL REGISTRY

The International Shiloh Shepherd Registry, Inc. (ISSR) is the only registry authorized to recognize a dog as a Shiloh Shepherd.

Established in 1991, the ISSR was formed to protect the public from purchasing a dog falsely represented to be a Shiloh Shepherd and to protect the genetic future of the breed. Thus, only dogs having a certificate of registration issued by the ISSR may be considered a Shiloh Shepherd.

Only dogs bred by an ISSR Licensed Breeder are eligible for ISSR registration. The registry polices its Licensed Breeders to ensure that no breeder knowingly breeds a dog or bitch that may produce a dangerous temperament. Likewise, the ISSR polices the dogs within its registry to document and maintain a temperament profile of every breedable dog in the registry. No dog may be bred before the results of its temperament test have been reviewed. Dogs that do not pass the ISSR’s Temperament Testing Program are not considered breedable.

Since its inception, thousands of Shiloh Shepherds have met the rigorous requirements set by the breed founder, and are currently registered with the ISSR. Funds derived from registrations are used to pay for professional data processing services (TCCP) with the remainder going to the SSDCA, Inc. for promotion of the breed
